DR. RAMEY NOTES: In the United States, drugs are rampant in essentially every industry where horses are asked to perform. Horse industries are going to have to figure out what they want to be. Either they are going to respond to societal pressures about animal welfare, or, they are going to become marginalized endeavors, practiced by a very few, none of whom are particularly well-regarded (see, for example, the Tennessee Walking Horse industry).
